Guildtown Housing Co-Op is not currently accepting new applications.
Primary Applicants:
An email must be sent to info@guildtownhousing.com every six months from initial submission date in order to re-confirm your housing interest. This will allow your application to remain on the waiting list.
Memorandum and Occupancy Rules
1. PARTICIPATION: The Co-op has a strict policy regarding participation. All units MUST be represented on at least one committee and work actively (MINIMUM OF 2 HOURS PER MEMBER/MONTH) to make this Co-op a reliable and suitable place to live.
2. MEETINGS: General Meetings are held in the Common Room approximately every 2 months. However, due to covid-19 restrictions meeting will take place via zoom until further notice. Also, decisions affecting the Co-op are made at general meetings and members are expected to attend and participate in the decision makings of our co-op.
3. MAJOR EVENTS:
a) There are 2 general Landscape clean-ups held each year (spring and fall) in the Co-op. Each unit is expected to participate 5 hours in addition to their monthly hours each clean-up gathering consists of pruning trees, weeding, trimming, raking, etc.
b) There are several seasonal parties held for both children and adults in the Co-op.
c) The Common Room is available for member’s who wish to have parties, weddings, etc (deposit is required)

4. PETS: Pets are allowed, according to co-op rules. These rules include the following expectations:
a) Not more than 2 mammals (dog/cat)
b) No vicious breeds (example: pit bulls)
c) Spaying/ neutering for dogs and cats (proof required)
d) All pets must be on a leash. No loose animals
e) Poop & Scoop is required and monitored
f) Dogs must be less than 21" at shoulder
5. PARKING: Each unit is given two window static stickers for their vehicles and one large “Visitors” pass. Visitors are expected to display this pass and MUST park in designated “visitors” parking spots OR on the street (pass not required for street parking). Members must display a window static sticker and may park in their designated spot(s) only
***Violators will be towed at owners’ expense***
6. INSURANCE: Proof of household (occupancy) insurance with Public Liability is required annually.
7. LOCKS: There is NO master key to each unit. Members who lock themselves out are responsible for locksmith fees.
8. LAUNDRY: A card-operated laundry is located beside the Common Room. Members who require this facility are expected to share in the clean-up and maintenance of this area. There are washer and dryer hook-ups in each unit as well.
9. GARDENING: Small plots of garden area are located in front of and behind each unit. Members are expected to maintain these plots by weeding and watering, as well as by planting flowers or shrubs if they wish. Remember this adds to the beauty of the Co-op.
10. HOUSING CHARGES: Monthly housing charges are payable with 12 post-dated cheques or Pre-Authorized payments. Late charges will be applied to outstanding accounts and NSF cheques. SUBSIDIZED HOUSING is available only to those already on a (lengthy) waiting list as per BC Housing Guidelines.
11. BEHAVIOUR: Member(s) are held responsible for the behavior of their children, friends, and visitors while on the Co-op property.
12. SHARE PURCHASE: A Share Purchase of $2000 is required upon signing the lease agreement.
